Each year, PRVFF participants and leadership gather to assist the Wyoming game and Fish Department in stocking efforts in the Pole Mountain region of Southeast Wyoming. A great time is had by all (including the next generation of anglers) and the beaver ponds in this area continue to have a resource of angling opportunity not too far from home
“All of us with the Laramie Region Fisheries Management Crew and the Dan Speas Fish Hatchery would like to sincerely thank the Platte Rivers Veterans Fly Fishing members for their assistance on May 22, 2025 with our annual beaver pond fish stocking.
This stocking effort has taken place annually for over 30 years. Thanks to your efforts, we successfully stocked 12,500 Brook Trout throughout the Pole Mountain unit. Pole Mountain beaver ponds are heavily used fisheries in southeastern Wyoming. Your assistance is crucial for maintaining this quality resource and we cannot thank you enough for helping. We, at Game and Fish, thoroughly enjoyed spending a day with your members and appreciate the effort and company (and of course the lunches!) y’all provided.”
Sincerely,
