Trip Lead: Ron Escobedo

Participants: 9 total (6 participants & 3 volunteers)

Dates: TBD, 2019

Location: Casper, WY. Elevation: 5,300 feet. Coordinates:

Lodging: We will stay at Wyoming Angler’s Lodge, approximately 20 miles southwest of Casper. The lodge is located on the Grey Reef, a few miles downstream of Government Bridge on the East side of the river. Meals will be a quick breakfast at the lodge, sandwiches for lunch, and then dinner back at the lodge. Bring your swimming trunks; there is a hot tub at the house.

The Fishery: The Grey Reef is a blue ribbon fishery. The average length of rainbow and brown trout is from 15 to 20 inches with an occasional fish that will strain your arm and frighten you a bit.  We will be on drift boats or rafts, so be prepared to listen to your boat captain and do what he says.  A 9′ 5 or 6 weight rod with new 7 1/2 or 9 foot leader is perfect for the Reef.  Bring plenty of flies and flourocarbon tippets in size 3 – 5x.

Special Considerations: A Wyoming Fishing License is required. We will be getting in and out of drift boats periodically throughout the trip.

PLEASE, NO CLEATS ON BOATS.
