Arapahoe Bend Natural Area (SWA)
Hone your skills fishing the Poudre River and/or still water from shore or float tubes. The natural area gives you a feeling of seclusion, lots of trees, Beautiful and peaceful on the water!
- There are 5 lakes/ponds to explore
- 3 are easily accessible for float tubes/U-boats, minimal walking distance
- Easy access at the water: The Big Bass Pond (South end) has the most walk from road about 150 yards, Little Bass Pond about 50 yards (north end). Beaver Pond (largest) access from road.
- Poudre River (on East side of Ponds) has trout and definitely Carp
- The ponds have Bass/Bluegill/Yellow Perch/sunfish/Catfish and maybe other species
What to Bring:
- Float tubes/U-boats/waders/boots/rods, 3-5wt./flies, all equipment needed for a day of fly fishing (snacks, water)
- On the water all anglers are required to wear PFD’s (life vests), along w/a Co.fishing license.
- Cold weather rain gear (better to have and not need)
- Trip lead will call, if selected, and will go over all the pertinent details at that time!
