About: Three day trout fishing trip to dozens of lakes in the Snowy Range area above Centennial, Wyoming. This is some of the most beautiful fishing opportunities in Wyoming. Lakes are above 10,000 ft. altitude. Some lakes can be driven to directly and have a minimum amount of walking required. For those that would like to hike 3-5 miles into back-country lakes, there will be Laramie guides/mentors to lead them into these beautiful locations in the Medicine Bow National Forest. Hiking over all types of terrain. Prepare for All weather conditions! Hikers must be able to carry all water, clothing, & fishing gear. We will be taking sack lunches with us each day.
Gear: Waders: Not recommended: These lakes get deep quickly: 5 feet out is 10 feet deep. The water is 35-40 degrees in July. Carrying waders to the lakes can be cumbersome. Wide Brimmed hat and sun glasses. At this altitude, the UV rays are fierce. Lip balm, lips get dry quickly. Good boots for hiking. Something to carry water. Would not advise drinking from lakes or streams due to the potential of giardia.
Small backpack?
Special Considerations: High Altitude sickness: Hydrate for 7 days prior to the trip. If High Altitude Sickness occurs, we will need to transport to lower altitude to alleviate! We are unlikely to have cell service during the day. Cell service ends just outside of Centennial.
REGISTRATION: Registration opens 6 weeks prior to trip start. Register here.
