Trip Lead: Tom Greenup

Dates: May 11 – 14, 2021

Participants: 6 (4 participants & 2 volunteers)

Lodging: We will be staying at Dutch John Resort in Dutch John Utah. We have reserved a 5 bedroom 5 bath cabin. We will be preparing all of our meals.

Details: Tom Greenup and Mark Miller will be captaining this float trip on the Green River below Flaming Gorge Dam. We will float “A” section twice. At the end of our float each day we will be doing some wade fishing at the Little Hole take out. This being a tail water fishery the water is cold. This time of the year the weather is unpredictable so good rain gear and layering will be necessary. Being a tailwater fishery the flies we will use the most will be midges and chrominids. We my get into some Baetis hatches and possibly some Cicadas. Depending on water levels we might do some streamer fishing. Skill level will require basic casting and the ability to wade. If we have someone who cannot wade we can work around that. Participants must be able to get in and out of the drift boat.

Gear: Waders, wading boots. Fly rods  5 or 6wt. for nymph, dry flies and streamers. Rods, reels, waders and boots can be supplied if needed. All flies, leaders and misc. will be supplied.
