DESCRIPTION:Hone your skills fishing the Poudre River and/or still water from shore or float tubes. The natural area gives you a feeling of seclusion\, lots of trees\, Beautiful and peaceful on the water! \n\nThere are 5 lakes/ponds to explore\n\n3 are easily accessible for float tubes/U-boats\, minimal walking distance\n\n\nEasy access at the water: The Big Bass Pond (South end) has the most walk from road about 150 yards\, Little Bass Pond about 50 yards (north end). Beaver Pond (largest) access from road.\nPoudre River (on East side of Ponds) has trout and definitely Carp\nThe ponds have Bass/Bluegill/Yellow Perch/sunfish/Catfish and maybe other species\n\nWhat to Bring: \n\nFloat tubes/U-boats/waders/boots/rods\, 3-5wt./flies\, all equipment needed for a day of fly fishing (snacks\, water)\nOn the water all anglers are required to wear PFD’s (life vests)\, along w/a Co.fishing license.\nCold weather rain gear (better to have and not need)\nTrip lead will call\, if selected\, and will go over all the pertinent details at that time!

DESCRIPTION:Location: Loveland\, Colorado\nFish:  Largemouth Bass\nGear: 6-8 weight rods. Size 6 – 2/0 flies(streamers\, dries)  2x or stronger leaders\nTrip Lead: Dean Millard \nPrivate Lake just south of Downtown Loveland\, CO.\nFormer gravel pit that has been Catch and Release only for the last 16 years. \nUtilized by the Farmstead Fishing Club\, it is known for the possibility of large Bass. The Big Thompson River flows through the property north of the Lake\, but the sides are very overgrown offering very little access. Float Tubes\, Boats\, or Rafts as fishing from the shore is impractical. 5 or 6 weight Fly Rods would be the most appropriate but could use up to 8 weight. \nFishing dry flies on the surface is possible\, though using an intermediate sinking line with woolly bugger flies would probably work better.

Elevation: 6\,611 feet. \nThe Experience: We will have one day of volunteer guided drift boat fishing and one day of volunteer guided wade fishing. Wading on moderate to technical waters. One-mile private access with easier wading opportunity. \nLodging: Taylor Creek House and one cabin. House accommodates five\, the cabin houses three. No handicap accessibility. We will be cooking our own meals – Platte Rivers Veterans Fly Fishing will provide Breakfast\, Lunch and Dinner\, alcoholic beverages are not provided by the group. Lodging includes one-mile private access to Frying Pan River. \nPlease note that some of the terrain on this trip can be challenging. Steep cliffs\, uneven terrain\, fast moving water\, and slippery rocks should be expected! Even for the most sure-footed we recommend a walking stick or wading staff.

DESCRIPTION:September 27th \nLocation: Loveland\, Colorado\nFish:  Largemouth Bass\nGear: 6-8 weight rods. Size 6 – 2/0 flies(streamers\, dries)  2x or stronger leaders\nTrip Lead: Dean Millard \nPrivate Lake just south of Downtown Loveland\, CO.\nFormer gravel pit that has been Catch and Release only for the last 15 years. \nUtilized by the Farmstead Fishing Club\, it is known for the possibility of large Bass. The Big Thompson River flows through the property north of the Lake\, but the sides are very overgrown offering very little access. Float Tubes\, Boats\, or Rafts as fishing from the shore is impractical. 5 or 6 weight Fly Rods would be the most appropriate but could use up to 8 weight. \nFishing dry flies on the surface is possible\, though using an intermediate sinking line with woolly bugger flies would probably work better.

DESCRIPTION:PRVFF is proud to be the sponsor for Hole #4 of the annual Swing4Vets Charity Golf Tournament at the Pelican Lakes Golf Course\n\n  \nThe Healing Warriors Program envisions a suicide-free world where all veterans and their families thrive. \n\nOur mission is to improve the wellness of veterans and their families through non-narcotic care. \n\n\nThe Healing Warriors Program provides no-cost\, non-narcotic therapy utilizing acupuncture\, craniosacral therapy\, and Healing Touch for veterans\, service members\, and their families. These complementary alternative medicine therapies work in conjunction with the client’s medical care to promote the whole person’s well-being. In addition to the complementary alternative medicine therapies that we provide in our clinics\, our dedicated client care specialists work to identify any additional needs that our clients require and connect them with our network of community resources. \n\nYour participation supports the Healing Warriors Program to alleviate the factors that lead to Veteran suicide.
